Recently however, things have transformed significantly for Valencia. This is because of a rather odd reason. The previous America’s Cup sailing competition was won by a contingent from Europe. While a significant victory, it presented a distinctive problem: those who win get to select the next venue for the race. Europe, obviously, is not exactly outlined by many oceans. Some nice lakes but however the Cup needs to be held out at sea. Valencia was selected therefore as the European port for the races for this season. The America’s Cup is unquestionably the game of the rich. In selecting Valencia, the host racing committee has laboured over the city to brighten it up in a major way. The old industrial port was made over spectacularly in ways you could not believe until you see it. The waterfront has already had an entire facelift. There is now a 64 acre park with a giant palm tree promenade. Then there is the City of Arts and Sciences which is an assortment of museums and cinemas. Even with the brand new construction, Valencia has truly been a location to attract knowledgeable people. It is a wonderful city. The city is best explored by getting lost while walking. Little cafes and medieval shopping streets will suddenly appear turning the back streets into a local paradise. You simply cannot fail by going to Madrid and Barcelona when you are going to Spain but if you wish to leave the crowds behind and are searching for a distinctive location, HOLIDAY VILLAS IN VALENCIA may be the place to try.
