Stones are so ordinary that we can see and touch them here and there, but they are very great and magnificent that they are used to build the Great Wall, Pyramids and so on. Sometimes stones are hard, but sometimes they are very grateful, so they are well favored by Chinese people. In ancient times, primitive men regarded them as totem and immolated them. Besides, they always placed their unfulfillable dreams on intelligential stones, wishing stones will have ample food and clothing and the country be prosperous and the people at peace! Therefore, the four masterpieces of China, such as “Journey to the West ”and ”A Dream of Red Mansions" will show that the Chinese people have a special liking tostones . In “Journey to the West”, there was a naughty stone. After experiencing strong winds and heavy rains, and absorbing the essence of the sun and moon, it became a handsome monkey king. It was just and brave that it got rid of evils. Besides, it created a tremendous uproar in Heaven and called itself” the Great Sage Equalling Heaven.” All the way it walked on airs, killed demons and protected Tang monk to finish the journey to the West. Besides, in ”A Dream of Red Mansions", Xueqin Cao showed his love to stones. This story was about the true love between a boy called” Bao Yu” and a girl named” DaiYu”.In fact, Bao Yu was a stone in his prolife. He loved DaiYu so much despite there were many hinders between them. Although this story was ended as a tragedy, their love was praised into people’s hearts. Nowadays, because of stone’s unique quality, people use stones to build great mansions, international borders and sculptures. Like the rings on trees, stones around us will tell the changes of our environments. To be honest, I like stones very much, for they give me a sense of simplicity, optimism and sincerity. They keep silent and become smooth when they undergo rainstorms, earthquakes, or even sandstorm. So they exist for hundreds or even thousands of years. Hence, I will encourage myself to be positive in the valley of life and humble all the time. .
