There are quite a number of holidays in the Jewish Holidays Calendar. All these holidays are celebrations in commemoration of very special events that happened to the Jewish people in the course of history. And very striking point common in these celebrations is that God is real and that the Jews are God’s people and that every event that happened in their lives is allowed by God to happen. The Sukkot, Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, Purim, Sefirah and Tisha B’av are just but a few of these annual celebrations. If you happen to participate in any of these holidays, you can’t help but feel you are brought back in those times. How wonderful our human existence is capable of imagining and thinking even of events that are far away in history. Isn’t it that this supreme God who created the human race has endowed us with these capabilities so that we may never forget his kindness and mercy? But it is so sad that many in today’s generation can hardly believe in all these things. There is really no harm in all these celebrations but rather all the good is in it. It is quite an experience to be able to take part in all these celebrations as Jewish Holidays 2012 is really packed with festivities. January 27 is the National Holocaust Memorial Day. Just in case, you don’t know what this is, it is a commemoration of the evil plan of Adolf Hitler, the German leader during the 2nd World War, which is to annihilate all the Jews by means of his ultimate mechanism – the gas chambers; and that goodness will triumph over evil in the end. Can’t you see a semblance of this event to the time of Queen Esther? Let’s use the capacity of imagination and thinking God had endowed us with so that we will remember his power and might to save his people. More holidays like on February 8, 2012 is the Tu B’Shevat, March 7, 2012 is the Fast of Esther, and on the 8th of March is the Purim, on the 9th of march is the Shushan Purim; and the list goes on until December 9, 2012 which is the Hanukka. jewish holidays 2013 is equally full of these same holidays and celebrations, and as you partake of it, it will again bring you to the time it happened and experience how it really felt. And through these holidays and celebrations, the Jewish people will always bring God as the center of their lives.
