Roman Abramovich, Fyning Hill: This huge estate, above, is located in West Sussex and is just one of the many homes of the oil tycoon and owner of Chelsea football club. The Fyning Hill estate comprises of 300 acres with a 1920’s mansion in the heart of it. There is also a collection of other buildings in the sprawling grounds, amongst them a second house, six cottages a staff flat and guest rooms. There are formal gardens and a lake to enjoy and for those sportier types there is a 50ft outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. The estate even houses a go-kart track and a clay-pigeon shooting site, a rifle range, Trout Lake and an equestrian centre. Just for extra security the tycoon has ringed the estate with an electric fence. Elton John, Woodside: Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish own 37 acres of beautiful English countryside in Old Windsor next to Windsor Castle. The lavish property hosts the White Tie and Tiara Ball every June to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and all the rich and famous attend. The property boasts an 18th century orangery with white scented gardens. There is also a tennis court and a secret garden along with Italian gardens Kate Moss: Kate Moss has now become a regular face in the Cotswolds after buying a property there. She has kept a home in Highgate, London but travels between the two. Her country retreat boasts of ten bedrooms and her neighbours are Liz Hurley and Kate Winslet. The village of Little Farringdon is the location of Kate’s pad but her celebrity neighbours all live in little villages dotted around the area. Kate can often be seen strolling to the local pub, The Swan, with her husband and daughter. Robbie Williams, Compton Bassett House: Even though Robbie spends most of his time in LA his UK base still cost £7million in 2009 for this country pile. The 18th century house is situated in Wiltshire and has seven bedrooms and a helipad. There is a pool, sauna and staff flats as well as a cottage. Kate Winslet: Kate beat Liz Hurley in the bidding war for her house in the heart of Church Westcote in the Cotswolds. She paid £3.5million for it in 2002 but did not move in until 2005 because of the extensive renovation work that she carried out. The house is set in 20 acres of land and has eight bedrooms. The house comprises of two buildings and has a 1950’s extension. She did add fencing and gates around the property to add to security but this only angered the locals. Katie Price: Katie bought this former old people’s home in June 2008 when she was married to ex-husband Peter Andre. It has seven bedrooms and is located in Woldingham in Surrey. It is set in 1.5acres of land and features a sweeping marble staircase. Many people would recognise the house as it is featured in many of her previous TV programmes. There is also a swimming pool, triple garage, large kitchen, gym and large rooms for entertaining. The former glamour model has since moved from the house to another house in West Sussex which cost her £2million, but she is currently in the process of renovating it. The house in Woldingham was on the market six months and Katie had to knock £250,000 off the asking price in order to sell it. She described the house as being cursed and felt a move was inevitable if she wanted to be happy. Wayne and Coleen Rooney: Their Prestbury mansion has been built from scratch as they demolished the 1930’s mansion that once stood on the plot in 2004. Since then they have spent a large amount of money installing all the latest technologies such as cinema, swimming pool and a £30,000 state of the art CCTV system for protection. The house is said to be valued at £4million. Claudia Schiffer: The German supermodel lives in Coldham Hall in Stanningfield in Suffolk. She resides here with her husband, film maker Matthew Vaughn, and her children.
