Casino owner Steve Wynn has decided to add to his property portfolio by buying some New York real estate rather than a piece of the Las Vegas strip this time. He has purchased a penthouse overlooking the expensive area of Manhattan’s Central Park South. Wynn, the 70 year old billionaire, has opted for a duplex apartment which has fantastic views of the park. The penthouse is located over two floors, the 30th and 31st floors of the exclusive Ritz-Carlton hotel and measures 10,882 sq ft. Previously to Wynn purchasing the duplex it used to be the ballroom of the hotel before Wynn purchased it for him and his new wife. The apartment has four bedrooms and astonishingly five bathrooms and five half-bathrooms. The living room alone is 900sq ft but the duplex also boasts a media room, dining room and a library. Because the duplex was previously a ballroom each room boasts of 15 foot ceilings. There is a 43 foot terrace which runs along the building’s northern side, the terrace is also park facing. There is also a chef’s kitchen to prepare the food for the billionaire and his wife. Previously the apartment was for sale at a staggering $77.5million but The New York Post reported that Wynn managed to secure an amazing $7.5million off the asking price. However there are added monthly extras, such as the enormous $18,057 communal charges and the $11,593 in taxes. However when you are a billionaire casino owner these monthly bills hardly touch the surface. Forbes rich list recently put Wynn’s wealth at a phenomenal $2.5billion. Wynn will live at the duplex with his new wife who he married last April in one of his casinos. His bride, Andrea Hissom, is in her forties and Clint Eastwood was Wynn’s best man at his wedding.
