I am a judgment broker, and not an attorney. This article is my opinion, and is not legal advice. If you ever need legal advice or a strategy to use, please contact a lawyer. It is your judgment! You were the person that taken advantage of by the defendant. You were the person that had a valid complaint, and brought the issue to a court. You're the one which the civil court agreed with. It was you that was awarded a civil money judgment, to try to correct the wrong which happened to you. Nobody should bother you to do something with your judgment, as it's your judgment. When you don't do anything, nothing happens, and that's your decision. You may wait several years, or try to do something about it now; it's your choice and decision. Most people want to recover money from their judgment, and our economy and the laws make that difficult. Your plan or decision to not try to convert a judgment into money is up to you. Most people would feel a lot better if they recovered something their judgment. Judgments don't last indefinitely, usually they die after a limited number of years, although most of the time they can be renewed. There are lots of things you can do with your judgment, while you wait for it to die. You can keep your judgment in a filing cabinet. You could frame it and put it on a wall. What is for sure, when you try to use your judgment to get money, it will cost you. Even if you enforce a judgment yourself, and do not share its ownership with anyone, you must spend money and time trying to recover money from the judgment. Because only the debtor's available assets may be used to recover to satisfy the judgment, nothing is certain, and there is not any guarantee whatever you spent was not just good money tossed in after what was lost. It is your choice to keep the ownership of a judgment when you retain an attorney to recover it. Usually, you need to pay them by the hour, unless you've got a large judgment and the judgment debtor is wealthy. You might find a buyer for your judgment, however this most often gets you only pennies on the dollar. When you don't want to spend money, you can get an average of 1/2 of the money collected, when you assign your judgment to a judgment recovery specialist. It is your judgment which belongs to you, so why do judgment enforcers want you to legally assign your judgment to them? Because any person who is not a lawyer can't represent anybody else on any legal matter including a judgment recovery. To enforce judgments, anyone (who isn't an attorney or a collection agency) must own it completely. After you assign your judgment, the judgment enforcer owns the judgment, and have the right to recover the judgment depending on what the debtor's situation is, and the way they choose. Ultimately, whatever you do with a judgment, is totally your decision. http://www.JudgmentBuy.com - Judgment Enforcement. The free, easiest, fastest, and best chance to recover your judgment money.
