Breast cancer is one of the leading health concerns of the women world as it has been affecting a large number of women since a long period of time and now one in every eight women is expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in her life time due to some risk factors that could not be changed by anyone like the gender, age family history and personal history of breast cancer, however there are some of the controllable factors as well that can be managed by women if they make some life style changes. Breast cancer is one of those diseases which don’t recognize any age limit or the difference of race, complexion and place, it is known to attack anybody any time in life even men are also at the risk of developing cancer in their breasts, however the risk is a bit lower for men but now the number of male victims is also increasing gradually so they should also take care of their breasts by being breast aware and by making certain life style changes like they should be careful about the diet, physical activity etc as all these factors play a major role to affect the intensity of risk. Risk factors are categorized into controllable and uncontrollable factors and both have their role to play for intensifying the breast cancer risk if they are ignored and the one which can be modified are not modified accordingly both types of factors are discussed below in detail Gender Gender is one of the most important aspects to affect the breast cancer risk like females are at greater risk to develop breast cancer so living as a woman is the first thing to put a woman at increased risk of breast cancer so they need to be vigilant about breast health. Age Age also includes into the risk factors that can’t be modified by women or anybody in the world so women should be more careful about breast health when they age due to the increased risk of developing breast cancer. Older women are advised to go for regular breast screening so that the cancer can be observed at initial stage where it is easy to manage and control, however breast cancer awareness is useful for everyone either old or young so older women should also try to enlighten their awareness by staying in touch with breasts regularly by going regularly for breast examination. Family history Family history of breast cancer can be defined as some of the relatives of women have been diagnosed with breast and some other types of cancer and the risk for women has become increased more than usual like if close relatives of a woman are diagnosed with breast cancer the risk is five times higher than usual and in case of distant relatives the risk is two times higher than usual. Personal History Personal history of breast cancer can be defined as a woman has had breast earlier in life so she is at the risk of developing breast cancer again.
