If you are wondering How to self publish your own work, I have some very good news for you. Self publishing has never been easier. What's more, it is a very straight forward process and you can see sales within days. What follows is based upon my own experience and represents what I have found to be the simplest method to success. For a start I would suggest that you forget all about traditional How to self publish methods, as this approach is a long lonely road with only a tiny percentage chance of success at the end. In my honest opinion the better way to go is to publish your work in e-book format. The sales of e-books has risen to staggering proportions over recent years. Worthy of note is that a successful book in e-format has every chance of being picked up and published by a traditional 'paper' book publisher. While you're perhaps waiting for this to happen, your book can be making sales, and profits, for you. Best of all is that it is completely free. Although there are other platforms, I choose to How to self publish using Amazon's Kindle. Amazon is by far the biggest outlet for e-books and the easiest to publish to. Most people have heard of the Amazon Kindle, millions of which have been sold around the world. These paperback sized e-readers can store thousands of books and it would be a real result if your book was one of them. E-books published to Kindle are in what is known as .mobi format. Now you may think that the specific format would limit your book to only the Kindle. This is not the case. Amazon has a completely free program called 'Kindle for PC' that anyone, anywhere, can download and read Kindle e-books on their own computer. This means that regardless of where your customer is, in any country, they can download and be reading your e-book within 60 seconds, on their own computer. They do not need to own a Kindle. The actual publishing process is straightforward providing you go about it in the right way. This includes being certain that your book is saved in.doc format. This is standard in Microsoft Word 2003 but not standard in Word 2007. In Word 2007 it is an option, not standard. This may also be the case with certain other word processing applications. Another option that is available, but one that I no longer use, is the use of HTML. There is no doubt in my mind that publishing with Word is by far the easiest and most straightforward method.
