Trying to do everything yourself 3. Negative website 4. Poor attitude 5. Unrealistic expectations 6. Bad organisational skills 7. Giving up too soon 8. Lack of professionalism Let's require a closer look at these: 1. To get a reliable designed website can be expensive - anywhere from $1000 to help $5000 - so don't do it until you're ready and have trained properly, otherwise you'll be wasting your money. several. Poor attitude In the Film & TV company, or any business right now, good social competence - the ability to work well with others - is a must. There is room for prima-donnas or filmmakers with attitudes. You have to be able to take direction graciously, put up with fickle clients and directors and take rejection. I have been to too many shoots where the film maker is sat at lunch moaning about the business and they're just doing this 'gig' for the money because they're only a stepping stone faraway from making their 'feature film'. Such negativity carries a way of catching up along with you and is the fastest way to undermine a career. 5. Unrealistic expectations People often ask me how long it will take before they'll start to make money in digital video making. 6. Poor organisational skills This can be a part where the artistic side of being a film maker dovetails while using the business side. Film makers are generally, and indeed must get, creative and artistic people. This means that considering and running themselves as a business can be challenging. However, it's a must if you need to work professionally. Think of yourself being a product that has to be marketed. You will need a computer, a printer and some sort of database of businesses and agencies who you have got to form relationships with. Additionally, you'll need a system to constantly keep you in contact with the people who can allow you work. Film making can be a people business, and people buy people. 7. Giving up too soon You name it! Arriving late for meetings together with shoots. Arguing with your Director. Not being prepared. Turning up drunk or below the influence. Letting a bad mood show. Spreading gossip. Bad mouthing other filmmakers at every opportunity. Not taking care of personal hygiene. Not following standing on opportunities and leads. Require I say more? I hope you've enjoyed my report and I look forward to providing you with even more important film making information in the future. In the event the early filmmaking schools have been founded, we didn't have access to all of the sites, DVDs and books which are available now; today, everything you need to know is readily available and professional grade filmmaking accessories is cheap enough being affordable to most aspiring filmmakers. The film industry started to attract more interest inside mid to late 70s when George Lucas whilst others created blockbusters which made an unprecedented number of people look into film school inside hopes of making their mark in the industry. At this time university education was pretty much the only way to enter the field, though newer directors enjoy Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez chosen to do things their own way but not spent a day in movie school and have definitely found success since filmmakers. To become filmmaker requires: * A preliminary understanding of the basic skills had to run filmmaking equipment * A comprehension of the business of filmmaking online film maker, film maker, film maker
