My family and I are from Glen Rock, New Jersey. The area of North Jersey where we are from is called the mall capital of the world so imagine my surprise when my family and I went on vacation in Miami and had the time of our lives at the Dolphin Mall. the Bergen County region of North Jersey is called the mall capital of the world because they have the largest mall space per square mile than any other region in the country. It seems like you cannot walk 5 feet in any direction where I'm from without bumping into a mall. Even when you live practically in the middle of this area it is still an extreme hassle to go to any of the malls. The highways surrounding these malls are filled with maniacs that are not good drivers. Parking is a nightmare. If you are lucky enough to find a spot is usually miles, and miles, and miles away from the entrance of the mall. All of these issues were not a problem at the Dolphin Mall in Doral, Florida. My wife, my 11 -year-old daughter, and I wanted to take a vacation during my daughter's Christmas two someplace warm and tropical so we decided on Miami Beach. So we flew down a little while after Thanksgiving and we stayed at the beautiful Lowes Hotel. My wife and I hadn't been to Miami Beach since before our daughter was born and things had changed quite a bit. It was basically how we remembered it though. The main difference was it was a lot nicer now and there were a lot more people. Unfortunately on our second day there thunderstorms rolled in and they did not look like they were going anywhere anytime soon. So being that we had an 11 year old girl to keep entertained we did not want to spend our entire day in the hotel room. We went down to the lobby to speak with our concierge to see what types of activities that was possible for us to do in the rain. When he suggested the Dolphin Mall my wife and I just looked at each other and laughed. Being how Miami Beach is basically an outdoor activities type place our options were very limited and in the end the mall won out. My wife and I were very dismayed but we had to keep this hidden from our daughter as we did not want to spoil her vacation. It only took us 15 minutes to get to the Dolphin Mall in the rental car this was wonderful because there was no traffic and the parking was right in front of the entrance. This mall was absolutely amazing. We went shopping. We ate a quick snack. Then we shopped some more. Then we played some video games at Dave and Busters which was a blast. Then it was around dinner time and we saw a place called Cinebistro which is a restaurant and movie theater combined. The food was fine dining quality and it was absolutely delicious. Also it is a very neat experience eating dinner and seeing a movie at the same time. My family loved it. The rest of our vacation the weather was absolutely fabulous. Now we are back home and I dread ever having to go to the malls up here. Every time we have to go to the mall I wish I could book a flight and fly to Miami and go to the Dolphin Mall.
