Even if this year is almost over, there are again a lot of Genoa events scheduled for 2011: indeed the “city of the Lighthouse” has a rich calendar of appointments in store for the month of December. And all these appointments are part of the “edition zero” of GenovaInBlu, a series of events organized on the occasion of the 51th Genoa International Boat Show. Between the Genoa events organized on this occasion, you can tour the Grimaldina Tower with an experienced guide during these last days of November and during the entire month of December. Since the Fourteenth Century, the Grimaldina Tower was used as a prison. And its walls preserve still today the stories and the testimonies of this past: on these walls you can read afflicted declarations of innocence and touching supplications, decorated with ancient paintings. The Grimaldina Tower is open every day (except on Monday) from 10am to 6pm. One of the Genova events that you cannot miss in the month of December is absolutely Sonorità del Sud. Un viaggio attraverso suoni, parole, musica (“Sonority of the South. A journey through sounds, words, music”): this exhibition will take place until December 29 in the halls of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Villa Croce, and it will explore the theme of the “journey to the South” with songs and visual works. This project is realized in cooperation with Goethe Institutes of Genoa, Barcelona and Lisbon, with the academies of music of these three great cities, and with the extraordinary contribution of Macba (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona) and the Museum of Caxo of Lisbon. Instead at Luzzati Museum until January 8, 2012 will be set another exhibition, this time dedicated to Guillermo Mordillo: during this Genoa event will be on display the works made by the famous Argentine cartoonist and appeared on books and magazines, exercises books and diaries, greeting cards and t-shirt, cups and every imaginable gadget. The open time of this exhibition: from Tuesday to Sunday, 11am/1pm and 3pm/7pm. These are the last Genoa events set and organized on the occasion of the 51th Genoa International Boat Show. And you cannot miss them.
