Convenience is a favorite word among people who lead active and busy lives. Dried fruit comes prepackaged and ready to eat offering ease and time-saving options for those with hectic schedules. While fresh is the most delicious when ripe and in season, it requires greater effort as it may demand slicing, peeling, or chopping. For those who have time to spare in the kitchen, fresh versions can be used in anything from smoothies to ice cream. Nutritional content is also something to be considered when choosing the type that best fits your lifestyle. These are usually inexpensive during these months, but quickly become unavailable as the fall and winter cause great climate changes. Dried fruit has a long shelf life and is available all throughout the year, which causes the price to be higher than that which is in season, but also allows for convenience and little preparation. Whether you prefer fresh or dried fruit, there are pros and cons to either option. If your life demands for more convenience then dried produce is a great alternative to fresh.
