One thing about flying remote control helicopters is that what goes up, must come down. Unfortunately, the coming down part can cause damage to your MSR. Performing repairs is just part of flying helicopters. A fun part in my opinion. Often times you will be able to just tweak or re-align your helicopter to get it back in the air. Other times it will be necessary to replace parts. That’s when you will need to find replacement parts. There are two options for Replacing Blade MSR parts. You can go with stock replacement parts, or you can switch to aftermarket parts. In this article I’m going to discuss stock part replacement. The first thing you’ll have to do is to identify the part that needs replacing. I’m assuming you have a cracked, broken or bent part so you know what needs to be replaced, but how do you find the replacement? The best way to identify a part for replacement is to refer to the Blade MSR Manual. In the manual there is an exploded view of the entire MSR helicopter. You should easily be able to find the part you need to replace in there. Each part has a number associated with it. Take note of the number and look it up in the adjacent parts list. For each item on the parts list there will be a description and an E-flight Part number. Once you have the E-flight number identified there are several ways to go about finding your replacement part. You can check out a local hobby store to see if they carry the part or you can search for it at an online retailer. There are several retailers online that sell these parts and can ship them out quickly and inexpensively. Some of the most common parts that you may need to replace are the blades (ELFH3016), the blade grips (ELFH3014), Feathering shaft (ELFH3013) and Landing gear (ELFH3004). With these parts on hand, you should be up an running again in no time after a crash. Sometimes there will be other parts that break and then you may have to wait a little longer for something to come in the mail if you don’t have a local supplier.
