The real Simi SIMI trained as a chartered marketing professional and she has recorded a long-term experience of the hair, beauty, health, entertainment, technology and communication markets. Her main focus was in the area of Solid PR and she developed marketing skills with particular expertise in strategic business growth and change management to secure new revenue streams, achieve sales forecasts, grow market share, and increase profitability hair wigs. Over the years, she has made track record with experience of working agency-side, in-house, as a freelancer, and running her business. She started her career over 20 years ago in London, the UK and later moved into consumer marketing, product development, brand management, trade marketing and business development in the UK, Nigeria wigs for black women and the United States. Hair invention Simi Belo, in September, 2003, founded Imiis Limited, to bring to market her many ideas for new inventions and innovations. Initially, she invented her first synthetic hair which she called NewHair which she described as “an overnight success amongst customers, hair and beauty experts, the media and retailers alike and is sold by reputable salons and shops, including Selfridges, a United Kingdom (UK) top fashion store, voted as the best department store in the world black wigs. Inspiration “I have always been keen to improve the products available for women,” Simi said, and coupled with the fact that plaiting and weaving hair had been a hobby of hers for over 25 years, she decided to introduce something different that will be comfortable for all women. Another reason why she invented her own hair was because all along, she couldn’t find the ideal solution to all of her daily hair requirements. Hence, she needed something she could use and maintain at home herself which has to be quick and easy to use with a look that is real.
