Remodeling a home is certainly a chore in some respects, but for the most part, it can be a fun and creative process. Picking out all of the details and waiting for the final product makes the work worth the wait. One of the newest trends in home remodeling is doing so with eco-friendly materials and appliances. Although there are plenty of options for eco-friendly remodeling throughout the entire home, there is an overabundance of choices when it comes to kitchen design in Connecticut . Countertops are the main feature in any kitchen, as they cover the large majority of the room. IceStone countertops are the leading choice in eco-friendly countertops on the market. These countertops are made out of recycled glass pieces and non-toxic cement. They come in a wide variety of colors and looks that will match any color scheme. Aluminum countertops are also becoming increasingly popular because they are eco-friendly and modern. Cabinets are the second biggest aspect of a kitchen. Wheatboard cabinets are made out of a mixture of wheat stalks that are pressed together to form a very hard surface. Cork cabinets are the most popular choice for eco-friendly cabinets. They are made out of the bark from tress, which is a 100% renewable resource. Cork has natural grains and patterns, so the cabinets come out looking exotic and unique. It’s important to consider eco-friendly appliances when remodeling a kitchen. High-efficiency and Energy Star appliances use less power and water, which not only saves the environment, but also saves homeowners money on their monthly power bills.
