Last month, the critically acclaimed series Veronica Mars was officially cancelled despite the fans' Mars bars campaign that showered the CW network with chocolates. However, the creator of the show, Rob Thomas said that he is planning to make a feature film just to bring closure to the things that were left hanging in the series finale. No major details about the possible Veronica Mars film have been released yet, though fans can get a glimpse of the creator on the third season DVD, where he talks about a new direction for the series. The DVD is composed of six discs containing a feature entitled "Pitching Season 4," an in-depth interview with Thomas, explaining a concept where Veronica (Kristen Bell) works as a rookie FBI agent a little after the third season finale. Other features included in the DVD are "Going Undercover with Rob Thomas," which is a recollection of the most memorable moments in the third season, a "Webisode Gallery" which contains interviews with the cast and set tours, "Unaired Scenes" with introductions by Thomas himself and a "Gag Reel." WHV Vice President of TV Marketing Rosemary Markson said that, "We are thrilled to release the final season of Veronica Mars, a series that developed a devoted, passionate fan following based on its smart writing and superb acting." She added that "Veronica Mars: The Complete Third Season DVD will deliver more unpredictable twists and turns as Veronica faces new daily challenges. We are confident fans are enthusiastic to add this final chapter along with an exciting array of extras to their DVD collection." Fans have yet more to await as the upcoming DVD and the possible movie aren't the only things to look out for. There is also a possibility for Veronica Mars to venture in the comic book series arena. Just last month in a conversation with the Toronto Star, Thomas said that the American comic book company, DC comics, has approached him with an interest to write the fourth season of the show as a comic series. Veronica Mars' third season DVD will be released on October 23 and has been priced at $59.98.
