The most important goal of every business organisation should be to maintain business continuity. The situation of many enterprises very often becomes unstable and changes due to many factors – market requirements, supply and demand, staff problems, dependence on other allied companies, etc. That is why, nowadays, it has become a key issue for them to organize their actions in such a way as to avoid any possible disturbances. Business continuity is an advantage that secures smooth management of an enterprise. Above all, it ensures that all the operations, transactions and services of the organization are available to the people concerned – employees, customers, suppliers and partners. It consists of various analyses and implementations of systems. The company must analyse its business processes, procedures and identify the key processes. Business continuity also aims at business process improvement and development . On the other hand, business continuity allows for quick and efficient reaction in the case of a disruption. This branch of business continuity is called disaster recovery, and although for some it may be synonymous with the notion of business continuity, it is only a small part of it. Business continuity is crucial for organization management – it does not only helps to prevent and protects the company from the effects of hardships but is a tool to supervise normal daily operations. There are organizations, government and non-government, that describe guidelines that form the whole process which is called business continuity planning. They are a set of actions and principles which lead to achieving and maintaining business continuity. The major concern of companies is to have a reliable IT and telecommunication infrastructure such as operating systems for management and databases for storing and archiving the information about operations. They are the core elements which procure business continuity.
