Gus Hansen is a professional Danish poker player who lives in Monaco. Hansen has won three WPT titles, the Aussie Millions main event in 2007 and the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament. He is involved in several online business ventures: Betfair Poker, ThePlayr.com and GusHansenTV along with Full Tilt Poker. While he was an exchange student at the Santa Cruz University in California, Gus Hansen started playing poker at the Ocean View Card Room in Santa Cruz. He finished in the money on the 150th position at the Main Event in 2004. In the Tournament of Champions in 2006, Hansen reached a WSOP final table, but lost on the first hand. He cashed in the money in the $10,000 no limit Texas hold 'em championship in 2007, finishing in 61st place out of 6,358 players, doing so he won $154,194. In 2008 he finished in 160th place out of 6,844 players in 2007, winning $41,816. Gus Hansen was the first player that ever won three WPT open tournaments. Gus Hansen won in January 2007 the main event at the Aussie Millions in Melbourne, Australia, grabbing the A$1,500,000 prize. In 2010, he won the No Limit Hold' em High Roller Heads-Up at the WSOPE, winning his first WSOP bracelet and cashing £288,409. He defeated Tony Bloom, winning the Poker Million IX tournament, cashing in $1,000,000 for first position.
