Every once in a while, most of us, deals with the yearning to significantly change something in their home. As the owner you have probably lived with the same colour scheme for many years and although it still looks nice to others, to you its ready for a change. A swift way to alter the look of your house is by painting it, it doesn't cost a lot of money and the results are quickly seen. There are quite a few choices to be made when planning the new look of your house. The very first matter that should be settled is whether you want to paint the outdoors, interior or both. When passing by your house or pulling up on your driveway, the first thing you would notice is a re-painted property; if this is what you want to do. For palpable reasons you couldn't repaint the outside if you lived in a condo as the building does not belong to you. With flats, the choice is quite clear and it is the internal walls that will be redecorated with a new color. The inside of any home should be painted more regularly than the external part of it, where ever you live. However, it is important to think about who will do the painting itself. The cheaper option is to complete the painting yourself, with hopefully the support of family and friends. The paint and tools, along with a pizza and a few cold drinks are your only costs involved with this choice. On the downside, though, it may take up a lot of your time and patience if there are no skilled workers to do the job. Despite the fact it will cost you more, a more simple option, and one that will have the least impact and disruption on your life, would be too hire someone to do it for you. The next question and possibly the most vital one, is what colour are you going to have? Often even a dark space can be entirely changed and lit up by painting one of the walls bright yellow, for instance. It is important to think about whether the wall covering will compliment the furniture and accessories in the room it does not have to be the exact same shade but they should be complementary. Rather than use the exact same colour on your exterior walls as your neighbours, pick one that makes it stand out slightly. On the other hand, you may not want your home to stand out for the wrong reasons, so avoid garish, intense colours. Don't let others tell you what colour you should use, only you know what is right for your house. So if painting your house is on your to do list, then good luck and I hope this feature gave you some ideas. Published by Elli Davis Team, awarded Toronto Condos realtors
