Adding to the appeal of the backyard, while freeing up the space in the garage are many different varieties of sheds, or cabanon as they are called in French. By using the same architectural styles and finishes that are apparent throughout the exterior of the house the smaller buildings that house the gardening tools and lawn care equipment are providing a charming elegance to the beautifully landscaped lawns and terraces of Canadian neighborhoods. Instead of the dull and boring shacks that are sometimes seen out behind a home, some people prefer to accent their gardens and house with a unique little building that compliments the entire property and looks more like a playhouse than a tool shed. In keeping with the traditional look of the estate, the French influences of Eastern Canada have spilled over into the development of the cabanon to include window treatments and doors that resemble the house that is adjacent to the shed. Sitting in a dignified spot at the end of the yard with a quaint little pathway leading up to the entry, these picturesque miniature homes are the ideal place to keep all of the tools and materials to make the grass and flowers look their very best. With the pruning shears and potting soil stored next to the spade and rake, there is plenty of room to house a lawn mower and other such paraphernalia that is used outdoors to spruce up the grounds and keep them looking immaculate. By keeping everything related to the garden near the place where it is used, homeowners can free up their storage space in the garage and have a special place where they can nurse their seedlings before transplanting them into a flowerbed.
