Those on a tight budget may believe that a ski holiday is out of reach, but this is not necessarily true. It features two main skiing areas: one is situated at a lofty altitude of 2,963m and provides fantastic powder. Andermatt is also a good place for those looking for plenty of fun away from the pistes, as it features snowshoeing, sledging, swimming, spa days and lots more to keep visitors entertained. Westendorf, Austria Westendorf is somewhat of a hidden gem because it sits at just 800m, but you can get good snow at the start of the year with a few brilliant pistes and easy access to 279km of Skiwelt’s runs. The accommodation, food and drinks cost peanuts in comparison to some places, so you can make big savings whilst enjoying the lively atmosphere and lovely views. Les Menuires My personal choice would be Les Menuires. Ski holidays here are great for those looking to shred powder, as you get easy access to the enormous Les Trois Vallees ski region. There is a fun and lively atmosphere throughout, as there are lots of cheap places to eat, drink and enjoy other activities. What’s more, the cosy apartments are much, much cheaper than anywhere else in Les Trois Vallees.
