Ready, Set, Pack for a Catered Ski Chalet Holiday!

Sports,Travel & Tourism
For beginners and avid skiers alike, there are few better ways of making the most of your trip to the slopes than staying in a catered chalet. Tignes is a popular resort in France and, while there are some great hotels in the area, none of them give you the atmosphere and convenience of a place of your own. It’s a luxurious addition to a holiday on which you’re likely to need a bit of downtime!

Whether it’s the convenience or the exclusivity that you’re most looking forward to in your catered chalet, Tignes has a lot to offer every visitor. But on a trip like this, it can help a lot if you know exactly what you’ll need to pack. We’ve put together this handy list to outline some things you definitely won’t want to leave at home.

Ski Gear

It’s probably a good idea to start with the obvious. Even if you’ve got the world’s best catered chalet, Tignes is still mainly about skiing – and you won’t want to leave any crucial items at home. You’ll want to remember your boots, skis, poles, helmet and all your warm layers for under your jacket, but thankfully a lot of these items can be purchased or hired when you arrive if you do forget anything important.

Sun Cream

Seasoned skiers will know this very well – but the beginners might not be aware just how strong the sun is when you're at 3000 metres or more. You can burn very easily up that high, so suncream is an absolute necessity that you won’t regret bringing it along. Lip balm with SPF is also very handy.

Electronics

These aren’t strictly necessary, but they are good fun to bring along. A great tip, especially for those looking to tackle the trickier slopes, would be to bring a Go-Pro or other personal video camera. The results make for amazing viewing when you’re back by the fireside or at a bar after the day’s skiing is done.

Chargers and Adaptors

Following from the previous item, it’s not much good bringing cutting edge tech along with you if you’ve got no way to charge it. As well as the chargers for your phones, laptops and any other electronics you’ll be bringing, you’ll also want to make sure you bring a couple of Euro adaptors.

A Source of Heat

You’ll find that even with a roaring fire in your catered chalet, Tignes can be a chilly place! To ensure a cosy feeling after a day on the slopes, a hot water bottle is a great addition to your packing – fill it up and pop it in your bed before you hit the hay!

Toiletries

It may sound obvious, but we’re often in such a rush to get away that we forget the most basic items of all. Although you’ll be able to buy pretty much everything in the ski resort, it’s a real time (and money) saver to have all the necessities with you.

Packed and Ready to Go

Now you’re ready for a holiday in a catered chalet, Tignes style! With these items safely in tow you can look forward to enjoying the trip of a lifetime. Picture yourself in front of that roaring fire without worrying that you’ve left a key item at home … Your holiday starts now!
