To love God with all your heart is the key to everything in life as your relationship with God affects everything and everyone in your life. It is not possible to love God too much or too less, but just rightly which is to love Him your whole heart. In a moment of honesty with himself and the Lord, Bishop KP Yohannan silently prays on how he can love God more. One would imagine that the Lord would instantly respond and you would show your gratitude about it, but instead God shows His gratitude by showering you with blessings that you most deserve. In that moment of being thankful, there were scriptures that came to my mind and several concepts that I had never thought of, says Bishop K P Yohannan. For the first time, the Bishop understood that irrespective of what we experience in the past or present, we must be thankful about the fact that a part of our heart still loves God truly because deep down inside our very spirit, we know that God is in complete control of our lives. If we have had painful experiences for which we tend to be ungrateful and unthankful for the reason that it made us unhappy, consciously or otherwise, we must still look at the joyful experiences that God bestowed upon us. You may not even realise that you are actually blaming God for your painful situations as you may think that you are blaming other people. However, in reality you are putting the blame on God because you know that He controls your life. Have we ever thought why God allowed the experience to happen to us? If we lose a loved one, isn’t it to teach us how to be more grateful each day that that person is amid our presence? You may believe that God could have prevented this from happening. Because of such feelings, each painful experience becomes a vacuum in your heart that refused to hold the love of God, which is not a great feeling to hold on to. It is during such situations that we must accept reality. We are not commanded to love God but we can chose to Love Him as He loves us with His whole heart. That is because it is possible with God being an integral part of your heart. Only when you are thankful to God with our entire heart then only you can really love Him holistically. That means you must be grateful for everything that is presented to you in your life, whether it was in the past or present. Thankfulness measures the condition of your and it reveals the reasons of what blocks your love for God. Thankfulness is an indication that your heart is standing before God and is ready to accept all that He has proposed for you.
