Popular Presentation Types

Internet,Website Design,Self Improvement

Presentations are not the same. They differ with regard to their design, content used and, of course, purpose. The latter factor affects the impression your presentation will create upon the audience and the interest it will evoke in the listeners. Before you start working on you project, you should define what type of presentation exactly you need. The thing is that each slideshow implies the use of specific techniques that contribute to its better understanding by the audience and the time you will need to complete the task. Listed below are the most popular types of presentations people create these days.

Instructional

As it is understood by the name, the major goal of this presentation is to provide the audience with instructions or directions on a certain topic. Such presentations are generally a bit longer as compared to other slideshow types as there is the need to cover all the aspects of your theme profoundly. The main task of a lecturer is to provide the listeners with new skills or information they haven’t known before. When preparing such presentations, be very attentive choosing the appropriate slides. Make sure to provide each slide with a brief explanation and don’t forget to make a summary in the end. You may need some time after the presentation to answer the questions of your listeners.

Informational

Informational presentations are, probably, the most popular these days. And it’s not surprising, because the main function of these slideshows is to provide information on a specific topic. Presentation themes may vary, but their major organization and structure remain the same. You have to explore the topic profoundly to be able to provide adequate information to the audience and answer the questions that may appear during the presentation. Make sure your slideshow is not only informative, but also interesting. Otherwise, your listeners will not be encouraged to keep listening to it till the end.

Persuasive

Persuasive presentations are created with one purpose in mind - to persuade listeners in something. This can be any fact, event, suggestion and what not. The structure of a persuasive slideshow differs a bit from other presentation types, because it contains an introduction, main point, arguments and a summary that should make a listener change his/her opinion. Persuasive presentations should be logical, consequent and reasonable. They should be devoid of extra emotions, which may distract a listener, making it difficult to get your message. When preparing a photo slide show for this presentation, try your best effort to catch the attention of users, disclose the main point, provide the required and persuasive arguments, include a call to action and make the conclusion. If needed, ask the questions the audience has to provide them with extra arguments and valuable info. This is a surefire way to gain success.

Enthusiastic

Enthusiastic presentations are created to make people think about a certain situation, which is a concern for the audience and evokes versatile emotions when talking about it. Such slideshows are exciting and informal. You can use vivid language and attention-grabbing slideshow design effects to encourage listeners to get your idea. There is no need to look for persuasive arguments, scientific facts or other related information. Since the presentation bears the informal characters you can use your own ideas, speaking from your heart. Illustrating your thoughts is a pretty nice idea as well. Anyway, visual information is generally percepted better than ordinary texts and you cannot but make use of this fact to drive the attention of the audience.

Suggestive

Suggestive presentations encourage the audience to agree on the action a speaker suggests. This can be achieved in different ways - either by presenting your ideas, arguments and suggestions or by proving their reasonability. Whatever option you will decide upon, you should not only suggest an action, for example, but make the audience listen to you and agree with what you say. Sometimes, it is useful to illustrate the situation with slides to point out the problem itself and this is where you cannot go without a slideshow.

These are the major presentation types that are especially in demand these days. However, this doesn’t mean that you should select only between these types when working on your project. The choice should be based on your needs and the topic of your presentation. Just make sure your slideshow is logically structured and valuable for the audience.
