Your wedding day should be one of the most magical days of your life. It should be all about you and your future spouse. When you begin planning your wedding, you may have a list of things that you want to have. From finding wedding flowers in Atlanta to buying the perfect dress, chances are you’ve got your own ideas of what you want. However, it’s important to create a reception that reflects the both of you. Not only will it symbolize your union, but it will help to create an ambience that your guests love. Here are a few ideas to blend both of your personalities and bring life to your wedding: - Make your entrance all your own. Don’t be afraid to enter your wedding reception with a bang. Strut in with your partner to the tune of your favorite song. You could also pull up in a flashy car or perform a scene from your favorite movie. You could choose to have a traditional first dance following your entrance or perform a choreographed line dance with your wedding party. No matter how you choose to enter your reception, make sure it reflects your style and personality. This day is all about the two of you, after all.
- Plan the details together. They say that the wedding is all about the bride. However, it shouldn’t be that way. If you are looking to make your ceremony and reception reflect your style, it’s important for the two of you to plan the details together. Choose drinks that you both like and a play list that combines both of your favorite jams. When it comes to planning the menu, choose a few of your favorite dishes. For something different, post signs next to the dishes explaining who chose what foods and why. You can also provide a ‘his and hers’ menu. Your friends and family will love seeing both of your favorite foods and trying new things.
- Hire the right DJ. The right guy behind the mic can make or break the party. Hire someone who knows how to have fun. You want to have everyone participating. Depending on your taste, your DJ can play games, hold dance contests, and help to announce the special moments during the reception, like the cake cutting or father/daughter dance.
- Decorate the venue just right. When deciding on a theme, make sure it’s one that both of you agree on. Then, add your personality to it. If you choose a ‘home-run’ theme, maybe you can choose some memorabilia from his favorite baseball team while still making the centerpieces with your favorite coordinating flowers. It might seem strange to combine both of your interests or styles when trying to decorate the venue. However, when done right it can create the perfect environment for your guests to party and celebrate your love.
- Stick to your guns. When planning a wedding, you will have dozens of people offering their opinions and style recommendations. While it can be beneficial to listen to what others have to say, that doesn’t mean that you need to take their advice. Be sure to stick to your guns and allow your style shine through. It doesn’t matter what others have to say. Your wedding day should be all about the two of you.
From choosing wedding flowers in Atlanta to booking a wedding venue, your special day should be just that—special. Consult with your partner in the décor and decisions for your big day. Combining ideas and opinions is a great way to make the occasion showcase you as a couple. It will allow you to create memories that you both enjoy and give you the sendoff you need to begin your future together.
