If you want to be in the first SERP “search engine result page “quickly, finally you have a paid way. A Google Adwords campaign can get you there. A well set up Google Adwords account means that your business is being shown to users who are keen to search for what your are offering and means also you that you will pay only whenever anybody click on your Ad. When it done in a right way it will help your campaign in a very powerful way. When it done wrong! It can be enough to destroy all your business. So I’m going to mention 7 fetal mistakes to avoid just to save your money while getting traffic at the same time. 1. Avoid Using Broad Keyword Match Newbie Adwords users can fall in this fetal mistake easily as if he chose a broad keyword match it can be a generic word that can drive untargeted traffic to your website and in this case you won’t get ever any relevant traffic. For instance: Broad match on the keyword “Knife” as a keyword, you will get “ Pocket Knife “, “Kitchen’s Knife “, “Electric Knife” or even “ Painting Knife “.These matches often result in more traffic to your site BUT it’s hardly ever targeted, relevant traffic. Broad keyword matches are almost always more expensive in terms of cost-per-click as well. Avoid whenever possible. 2- Remember to set your Location or you will lose a lot from your pocket In case you don’t have International Shipping feature so there is no need use keywords that can drive for your website out-of-country searchers as you it will cost you per-click as well by clicking on ads. When you set up your Adwords campaign, make sure to update Google with where to limit the ads. (Under Campaign Settings – Audience). Expert Tip: Even if you are serving a large market, selecting a few specific areas for your campaign is a better way to save money on your Adwords budget when you’re first starting out. 3- Beneficial Call to Action While you are surfing the internet you will be finding so much of online marketing – and especially online advertising, without an attractive reason you will not ever click on the Ad, so you can add some beneficial offers on the call to action to make your targeted audience click on your ad. Note: Tie this call to action to your goal for the campaign (purchases? signups? appointment scheduling?) for higher goal conversions. 4- make good use of Ads Other violations of Adwords terms of service that can be done and cause a lot of silly mistakes. Your ads do get reviewed for relevance/screened for spam. Read and respect the Adwords terms of service – among them, writing your ad text in all caps (so go back to the drawing board if your current copy draft includes CLICK HERE NOW or FREE FREE FREE). Don’t get your campaign suspended for silly and avoidable mistakes. 5- Increasing Clicks seems to be positive step.. but ! Having many clicks sounds good but think for a while about it! People coming to your website and ultimately leaving without doing anything does NOT provide any value to your website. However, if a visitor does something that’s of value to your business (signs up for your newsletter, buys a product, registers for an event, etc.) that’s something to focus on. Set up your Google Analytics to work with your Adwords and track what’s important for your business – conversions. 6- Start your Campaign but don’t forget it! Every successful campaign doesn’t success by itself; it requires to be followed up by its owner all the time to check if it needs any modification or adjustments, or even further experiment. Starting your Adwords Campaign and then forgetting about it can cost you a lot of unwisely spent advertising money. (Especially without spending limits installed). Regularly review and refine your campaign to optimize conversions. 7- Don’t even think to compete in a high competition if you are small business owner If you are a small business owner, most probably your Adword budget won’t be as much high as Pepsi for example. So don’t try to be them just be creative while you are choosing your keywords and don’t put yourself in a high competition with those because you won’t win, just try to be smart. Logic says that in this case you can use Long Tail Keywords (3-5 words) is best for getting clicks from users whom are looking for the content on you page, it will be competing with some related but at least not with the Exact match ( the big guy ).
