In addition to the challenges of the physical PCB architecture, Stoltiens also encountered some difficulties in chip programming; the Microchip's PIC12LF1552 microcontroller is used,which can not be programmed by Blinkring’s PICKit2 tools being used,the next step may be carried out by using PICKit2 Device Data File Editor . There is also a problem, PIC12LF1552 has no standard ISP head for programming. Stoltiens thought a very simple solution that is five contacts were added on the back of the PCB and made a customized programming dock (dock), the earrings can be held when needing to be updated. The spacing is 100mi on the PCB pad (pad) , therefore by using the contacts on the vertoboard be used as the programming base. Blinkring circuit board programming method The LED was distributed in six points on the earrings, each point has red and green LED; Stoltiens was originally hoping to achieve the unity brightness through hardware method, but finally using the software to make LED glow to reach a satisfactory. The method adopted is to maintain that the shiny time of the green LED light is twice longer than of the red .
