How To Match Your Furniture To Your Design

Real Estate,International Property,Home Improvement
In order for you to have a stylish home you need to learn to match your furniture with your house design. Everyone needs furniture in the house considering it very handy and it also adds class to your house. There are many reasons that you need to consider in matching your furniture to your design. Furniture that coordinates can be taken from many different collections, but it all works together to create a close-knit room. There may be many different finishes involved; you may even combine new pieces with pieces you already have on hand. They can provide some wonderful options for furniture in different sizes when you are looking for something in particular. Houses may have different styles like French, Traditional and sometimes Rustic all you have to do is trying to mix and match your furniture styles to help you create a look that is delightfully exceptional. It’s okay to mix different furniture styles together in one space because it creates a more interesting and unique space. When matching furniture styles, try to build something in common between all of your pieces to help create a unified look and keep your space from looking cluttered or chaotic.

Matching the Colors

Using a consistent color throughout all of the pieces to help the items “speak” to one another and achieve a cohesive look. When matching furniture styles, it's important to stick to a correlative color. If you don't feel too confident about your color coordinating skills, it's a great idea to check out home decor magazines. Look for spreads of rooms that you like, and notice what colors they use together. Or, visit the paint department of your local home improvement store and take a quick look at their color swatches. Often, they'll group complementary colors together, and the color swatches are usually free. When in doubt or faced with uncertainty, go with the lighter color scheme. Darker colors are often attractive on paper, but can look stunning when they fill up a room.

Aim for Balance

Look for pieces that have similar shapes even though they might have different styles, they still match. For instance, all of the seating in a room might have rounded arms, or all of the chairs in a dining room might have low profile backs. If you have a lot of mismatched dining chairs, they will look much better if they're all about the same height. The same goes for chairs in a living room, as a tall, straight-backed chair will look out of place next to a short, squat reading chair. It is one of the most substantial things you can do when mixing and matching furniture styles is to aim for balance among your furniture. This means bringing pieces into a room that are similar in size and weight.

Feel the Coordination

Once you feel that you wanted to create a unique space, it’s best to assure that all pieces fit this vibes. Regardless of the style, formal pieces tend to mix best with other formal pieces, casual with casual, and so on. The same is true for elegant pieces and simple pieces. Arts and Crafts, which have a more simple design, will mix better with modern or Shaker style furniture, which also tend to have a more simple design. Visual Balance When dealing with dissimilar objects, you can “cheat” the eye by creating visual balance so that they no longer look so dissimilar. This visual balance is often created when you consider the color, shape, scale and the quality of the furniture that you wanted to match with.
