You may often come across a dog that has been mistreated at some time in his life. These dogs are tough to handle because the things humans do every day give them worry and terror. With a few basic modifications in approach and a lot of patience, you can improve your chances of training a mistreated dog to trust. Bend down while dealing with this dog to look less intimidating. Keep your voice low and cheery while speaking with him. A loud or irritated tone will frighten him. Call him to you rather than approaching him. Praise him if he makes an attempt to comply. Don't wait for him to entirely comply. Remember that he may be used to being struck while approaching someone. When you do get to touch this dog, try not to pet his head. As you approach him, keep your hand palm up and lightly touch under his chin or on his chest. A dog may be soothed by rubbing either location. Allow him to recede if he attempts to step backward. He will eventually remain longer. When a dog is worried or terrified, he may often pee the floor unintentionally. If this occurs, it is critical not to express your dissatisfaction. It is not a premeditated act of disobedience, and it will likely fade as he establishes faith in you. Keep sessions brief, with just a few minutes of direct contact each time. As his trust builds, you may progressively extend the time. Sitting calmly and waiting for him to approach you can often help him feel at ease. If your first tries are unsuccessful, try this. A dog that has been mistreated may be as trusting and loving as any other. All that is required is patience on the part of people around him. Crouching, a low voice, and proper touch will finally win him over. See Fun Games For Dog Lovers
