Almost everyone believes we are living in strange and exciting times. At the very least, most people will make a general comment that “we are living interesting times” to avoid being political incorrect with their personal opinions. What are people trying to say when they make vague and cryptic statements like this? It’s hard to deny that we are seeing increasing social upheaval and military escalation fuelled by turbulent and uncertain global economic conditions. Environmental scientists and other credentialed professionals say we are facing the sixth mass extinction of the planet. http://theconversation.com/earths-sixth-mass-extinction-has-begun-new-study-confirms-43432 Concerned researchers point out the staggering number of species being lost every year and the crumbling ecosystems that go with them. They claim this incredible loss is due to the increasing effects of global climate change (which appears to have multiple causes). In the Spiritual Community, people refer to these extreme changes as the “The Shift” or the “Paradigm Shift”. There is no real consensus or agreement on what is causing the Shift or what it ultimately means for the future of humanity and the planet. Many survivalists and religious groups believe the Biblical Judgement Day from the Book of Revelations is at hand. Christians believe that on Judgment Day, those who accept Jesus Christ as their true saviour will be taken up into Heaven. We are constantly reminded that those who do not acknowledge Jesus as their lord and saviour will face Hell on Earth and eternal damnation. The Ascension is also a Biblical story which recounts the ascension of Jesus into Heaven. The popular meaning of the Ascension focuses on the spiritual evolution of humanity. Those who are spiritually minded (who are not exclusive members of an organized religious group) believe humanity is moving into a higher level of spiritual awareness. It is thought that we are evolving from our carbon-based 3D reality to a (higher vibrational) fourth or fifth dimensional state and a crystalline-based form. Most people who sense the presence of The Shift in our midst, believe global conflict is a necessary part of the transformational process. The Shift could be viewed as an alchemical process. It is meant to purify the physical world and the collective consciousness of humanity. This alchemical process will ultimately restore balance and vitality to the planet. It will also lift humanity into a higher vibrational state of existence. The Shift is also referred to as a “paradigm shift” because it is thought that the old social paradigms, and existing social structures and systems are collapsing. In other words, the Old Order or Established Order is losing their power. “When the Great Dragon breathes its last breath, a New Earth will emerge from the ashes of Old Order”. ~ The Mystic The conflict we perceive that comes with the unfolding of the Paradigm Shift is meant to awaken humanity from its unnatural condition within the “illusion of reality” or the “Dark Matrix”. This is called the Great Awakening. When an individual experiences a spiritual or psychic awakening, they undergo a powerful metamorphosis. The forces of the Paradigm Shift challenge the very foundation of an individual’s personal belief systems. It compels a person to turn their perception inwards to face their “demons”. Successfully surviving a personal paradigm shift experience requires the heart of a warrior. If the person emerges from their shift experience intact, they will be transformed in every possible way. The Paradigm Shift opens a person’s eyes to new truths. It helps people see their connectedness to everything else in the universe. In spiritual circles, this is a metaphysical principle called “oneness consciousness”. It gives us the spiritual awareness that separateness and individuality is a false belief. With this new understanding, the illusion of duality disappears and we can see through the veil of darkness. The Shift also assists people in re-claiming their personal power. An awesome realization of inner power emerges when a person understands that true power is about personal responsibility. In order to manifest our ideal reality, we need to take total responsibility for every thought we think, and every action we take in the world. By taking responsibility for the things we manifest, we no longer feel the need to give our power away to others. The Paradigm Shift also helps us recognize we possess the “power of choice”. This empowers us to make conscious choices based on our inner wisdom, rather than relying on outside sources for the answers. Accepting responsibility for what we manifest in the world, along with a keen understanding of the power of choice, leads to a sense of personal sovereignty. An awakened soul also learns to respect the natural sovereignty of all of other living beings (as their equal). At this point, the “blame game ends” and we become the supreme co-creators of our personal reality. You could compare the experience of the Paradigm Shift to the proverbial “dark night of the soul” journey. The Paradigm Shift tests us on every level of our soul. In order to be transformed by the chaotic forces of the Shift, one must be prepared to face a mental, emotional, and spiritual onslaught. If you are successful in awakening from the Dark Matrix, the first thought that might enter your mind is “What Happened to the world?” You can expect your Higher-Self will give you a new life mission. This is your “higher ---purpose”. Your higher purpose is a spiritual calling to contribute great deeds in the world. Most people who successfully triumph over the trials and tribulations of the Paradigm Shift, will be chosen to take on the role of a Lightworker. Lightworkers are either Light Healers or Light Warriors (or both). Lightworkers are the Guardians of the New Earth. They are healers and defenders of humanity, and the protectors of the planet.
