WHAT IS A SPIRITUAL WARRIOR?

A spiritual warrior creates his or her own definition of what it is like to be a spiritual warrior.

A Spiritual Warrior could also be called a Light Warrior, Peace Warrior, Love Warrior, Mystical Warrior, or a Guardian.

Names are not important to the spiritual warrior; as he or she has learned conquer such notions through self-mastery of the mind by developing a sense of nonattachment to the material world. The spiritual warrior understands the impermanence of life while appreciating and enjoying the beauty of the experience.

A spiritual warrior creates his or her meaning with a clear intention.

A spiritual warrior is one who stands in his or her own power.

A spiritual warrior is not swayed by the opinions of others or prevailing cultural ideologies. The spiritual warrior is both a philosopher and an activist.

The spiritual warrior follows a heart centered path of enlightenment, an illuminated path for the attainment of higher knowledge. This is the path that leads to inner wisdom.

A warrior may lead, follow, or collaborate with others based on a conscious decision that is made with the intention of obtaining the best possible outcome for a particular situation.

Being a spiritual warrior is not necessarily about physical strength or fighting prowess (although it can be).

The spiritual warrior is an attitude one possesses that lends itself to strength of mind and fullness of character that includes a strong sense of personal integrity and resilience.

The spiritual warrior fights for love and life with a heart centered focus, and an unbending determination to achieve a desired outcome.

A spiritual warrior is a seeker of knowledge and truth.

The spiritual warrior is a teacher and a student of life, rather than a guru or a master.

The spiritual warrior stands between two worlds; the one we perceive as physical reality, with an awareness of a world that most people would consider non-ordinary reality.

A spiritual warrior places great value on personal responsibility, the power of choice, and respect for all living things.

A spiritual warrior keeps an open awareness to sense danger and immediate threats to his/her physical existence.

A spiritual warrior does not allow potential or ambiguous worldly threats to become an obstacle to living a joyful life.

A spiritual warrior lives life with enthusiasm, seeking both excitement and tranquility at different times.

A spiritual warrior understands the whole person concept. They seek to know all aspects of themselves and their inner nature.

A spiritual warrior is not afraid to face his or her darkness in order to find the truth.

The spiritual warrior is content with the truth that their knowledge is limited to their experience.

A spiritual warrior accepts that he or she will never attain all the “answers” in a single lifetime.

A true spiritual warrior will continue seek out the mysteries of life in everything they do without shame or regret.

A spiritual warrior lives without regret or guilt, but not without remorse, or a sense of moral responsibility to atone for his or her wrongdoings.

A spiritual warrior knows that fear is a matter of the mind and happiness is a feeling generated from within.

A spiritual warrior sees Death as a teacher and an Ally, rather than an adversary to be beaten.

The spiritual warrior learns to let go of the fear of death and loss in order to be free from grief, while at the same time allowing themselves to feel everything that comes up in the moment.

The spiritual warrior prefers balance and flexibility over self-importance and self-righteousness.

A spiritual warrior will speak his or her truth with conviction, while at the same time leave a situation open to negotiation and conciliation, depending on the circumstances of a particular situation.

A spiritual warrior operates using all his or her senses, including awareness, intuition, and intellectual processes.

A spiritual warrior’s goal is discern the truth in all things.

A spiritual warrior relies upon a higher source of wisdom (the god of your heart) to guide them in difficult times and in making good decisions.

A spiritual warrior knows that all answers lie within.

A spiritual warrior is acutely aware that his or her power to manifest reality exists in the present moment. Much like the breath of life is a warrior's center of power.

A spiritual warrior knows that true power does not come from an external source such as worldly knowledge, status, or wealth. These concepts lie within the realm of the ego, which a warrior strives to subdue.

A spiritual warrior understands that strength is a power that comes from an inner or higher source that manifests as self-confidence.

A spiritual warrior sees through the illusions of life (in terms of its dualities and paradoxes).

A spiritual warrior does not accept labels such as good and evil.

The spiritual warrior has a strong sense of social justice that is guided by a clear conscience.

Spiritual warriors "fight the good fight". They fight for what is right and just.

Spiritual warriors do not condemn others. Nor do they pre-judge people or resort to blame.

Spiritual warriors often enjoy healthy competiveness designed to challenge their spirit and improve upon their character.

Spiritual warriors seek the lessons from their experiences and realize that each situation is new opportunity to improve upon aspects of their personality, rather than seeing life in terms of positives and negatives.

A spiritual warrior thinks and sees in terms of possibilities rather than limitations.

The spiritual warrior removes the limitations of the mind knowing that all things are possible.

A spiritual warrior lives life to the fullest in order to realize their greatest potential.

A spiritual warrior lives life with passion and seeks to exercise the fullest expression of their spirit through their life's work.

A spiritual warrior does not accept defeat. However, a warrior might see "walking away" as a winning strategy (in many cases).

The spiritual warrior upholds the belief that life is risk worth taking.

A spiritual warrior believes that all options deserve thoughtful consideration, rather than being dismissive of a possible solution or a viable option.

A spiritual warrior considers pain to be a condition of the world which can either be accepted or overcome. Whereas suffering is a condition of the mind that should conquered and eliminated.

The spiritual warrior believes life is perfect, and our experiences are subject of the limitations of our perception, and our interpretation of the events that occur outside of us.

A spiritual warrior believes that all things serve a higher purpose (in one way or another), since he or she cannot know full extent of their creator's divine plan.

The spiritual warrior lives according to the simplicity of the Serenity Prayer, where one should seek to change a situation (with wisdom) that they truly believe can and should be improved upon, while being content to leave everything else in hands of their creator and natural evolution.

The spiritual warrior does not perceive mistakes or failures, but only sees lessons, insights, and the inner meanings that serve to advance his or her personal growth or higher purpose in life.
