In recent years, promotional wristbands have become an important tool with which to generate and perpetuate brand awareness. It seems that barely a month passes these days, before the release of yet another Disney blockbuster sends streams of kids scrambling for seats at their local cinema. As a result, the success of these movies is often secured many weeks prior to the premier, due solely to the benefits of this inexpensive form of advertising. What are the Main Benefits of Promotional Wristbands? Of course, acceptance is made easy by the fact that children are always ready to identify with a new fictional hero. However, although their motivation may differ, there are also many good reasons why adults are often willing to be identified through promotional wristbands, perhaps as a participant in some sponsored charitable event or a supporter of some favoured sports team in its pursuit of a championship title. When compared with many of the common alternative wearables, such as branded T-shirts and caps, for example, they offer the distinct advantage that they may be issued free and to a far larger number of people than either of these more expensive alternatives, as these bands can be purchased for just a tiny fraction of their cost. Although small, these items are well able to compensate for their lack of size with the high degree of visual impact that is made possible by their bold designs in bright, eye-catching colours. Promotional wristbands may be intended either for short- or for long-term use. When manufactured from less durable materials, such as paper or cardboard, they offer the marketer a disposable campaign solution that will require the bare minimum, in terms of their initial outlay. By contrast, the use of more durable materials, such as silicone, vinyl and plastic, may cost a little more but allows for the lengthy and repeated usage that will result in continued exposure for a product, a service, some forthcoming or current event, or a worthy cause. When associated with a charitable cause, people often wear them with a sense of pride and purpose that can inspire the support of colleagues and friends. Although their primary objective may be promotional, wristbands may also be designed to offer some more practical functions that can be of direct benefit to those who will wear them. For instance, a sweatband bearing the name and printed in the colours of a local sports shop offers benefits, albeit rather different ones, both to the promoter and to the wearer. The impact bands worn for similar purposes are yet another example of this more practical use. Yet another option is the variant of the basic promotional wristband design known as a wrist-strap, as it offers its wearers a handy means with which to secure a camera or a cellphone when on the move, while also keeping it close enough for quick access, should it be required.
