Here’s a statement that you’ll not only find odd, but you might just begin to question everything you knew about me — the breweries near me that I enjoy the most show movies. And I’m not talking about showing a DVD on a loop throughout the brewery. I’m talking a legit brewery showing a legit movie like you’d find in a movie theater. Come to think of it, my favorite brewery is the perfect combination of the two. You’re probably thinking that I’ve lost my mind. How can a movie theater combine with a brewery in a palpable way that actually works? It’ seems almost “Wonka-ish”, right? Question it all you want, but the truth of the matter is that you’re missing out on a really cool environment. Imagine being able to go to your local movie theater, and before you set foot inside, you already know that all of the movies you can choose from are first-run, current movies. Then, imagine looking toward the lobby and seeing a convivial atmosphere that’s family-friendly, that serves great food, and you can actually see the brewery in action putting out first-rate craft beers brewed for the theater itself. Oh, and just to take it over the top, you can order food and beer during the movie! Sounds unreal, huh? Welcome to my world, my friend. The food being offered actually means having a legitimate menu available for moviegoers and patrons alike. Options such as street tacos, pizza, salads, and wraps were now actually available. There’s also a kids’ menu for the kiddos in your life, and both menus offer fresh ingredients. Not only is the food game on point, but the beverage situation is stellar. The brewery is on-site and is run by a brewmaster that heads up the entire brewing process. What you get is absolutely amazing, award-winning beer that holds its own against the best beers in the world. They also go really well with the food being served, and that is no accident. I tell you, my favorite brewery/movie theater made sure that it redefined the moviegoing experience the right way. OK. So, you might be almost convinced, except for one thing — what if you don’t actually want to watch a movie? No sweat. Remember that convivial atmosphere in the lobby area of the theater? You can get together with friends, co-workers, or bring your family for a friendly place to hang out & have a bite to eat. You don’t miss the rather weak concessions, the somewhat sketchy arcade, or the generally uninspiring feeling you used to get with your standard movie theater. As a brewery, you get more open space & available light, and you don’t feel as though you need to have a degree in craft beer to get enjoy a good beer. The breweries near me, especially my favorite, may not necessarily be like the breweries near you, and that needs to change with a quickness.
