China Central Television, the state-run national broadcaster, becomes a laughingstock after it blurred David’s penis in a newscast about an exhibition in the National Museum of China. The red band on the man’s arm says “Safety personnel”. The slogan on top left-hand corner reads, “Comrades, we must unswervingly achieve safety and harmony.” CCTV’s headquarters is nicknamed “big boxer shorts”,“crotch”, “Window of wisdom”(??, zhi chuang, sounds exactly the same as ‘hemorrhoid’,??, in Chinese.) by Chinese people who poke fun at its quirky design and structure. Now netizens have drawn a pair of red boxer shorts to cover its ‘sensitive parts’.
