Christian t shirts in today’s market are bland. Have you noticed? They’re unappealing; they’re soft, and mainly, they don’t depict the life Jesus has called us to live. Jesus calls us to live radically. So why are we throwing a Bible verse on a shirt and deeming it an acceptable “Christian t shirt?” We are called to more than the regurgitation of Bible verses. In Matthew 28:18-20, we are called to make disciples of all people; in Matthew 19:19, Jesus commands that we love our neighbors as ourselves. These verses are commandments; they are not suggestions. Why, then, are we satisfied with a Bible verse thrown on a t shirt? The truth is, Christians are called to live like Christ everyday.
