In purchasing a truck for heavy hauling, below are a few options to be considered. The bumper hitch also known as the tongue hitch is an option to be considered and this is the typical hitch used when transporting or hauling a load. It is attached to a ball bolted at the back of a truck. Another type of hitch which some people use is the goose neck hitch. This is also referred to as the 5th wheel hitch. It is connected to the bed of a truck by employing a forward coupler to it. Then there is a load-distributing hitch. This is usually used in heavy hauling because it secures the load in the trailers by distributing the weight of the load on the trailer. There are some people who utilize a jack and attach on the bumper hitch. There is an option for a wheel on the jack and they come in various sizes. The wheel helps one in maneuvering the trailer. There is also a telescoping jack and the bumper hitch can let one choose the length of it. Some people take into consideration the sides of a hauling trailer. There are some hauling trailers which do not have side, slatted sides or removable sides. These need to be strap down to the trailer to avoid any mishaps. The tie down points has to be placed on positions which can be adjusted. Most hauling trailers have storage compartments or tool boxes and these can be place at the side of the trailer. The last option to consider adding on to a hauling trailer is the trailer brakes. A braking system can help relieve the truck’s brakes from stress and provides safety. A good break system for a trailer to be used for heavy hauling is the breakaway braking system wherein the brakes will be activated in case the hauling trailer suddenly becomes detached from the truck.
