Fishing Boats - A history of Living in the Sea.

Sports,Boating
Back in the day boats is being used as a form of transportation, for fishing and today for sports. Early types of fishing boats included rafts, canoes, reed boats are a few types of boats that’s been use even before to travel by sea. Fishing is one of the most essential ways to get food before and even today, from early stage canoes that was made of tree trunk, they will carve a hole in the middle of the trunk to make a gap that will be passengers seat for the boat. Back in early days, people use to burn the trunk to create this shape.

Getting on a boat is what makes some people lives meaningful, seafarer, fisherman, or just a family who happens to live near the shore. These people shows us how important boats are, imagine if a fisherman lost his boat there will be no way for him to go out on the sea, to get some fish and make money, his family will starved. The invention of boats gives million people a way to communicate with each other on the other part of the world.

Early settlers used boats to travel and meet new tribes and exchange information on how to live and trade items. As of today a lot of things changed, from the first form of boats up until the new ones like the fishing vessels. Fishing vessels are a type of ship that is designed to catch large volumes of fish. This kinds of vessels are used in commercial, artisanal and recreational fishing. In the 15th century, Dutch developed a design for boats that has been the idea for the European Boats. Since then, this design has been the standard for almost all European boats that is being use for fishing. This type of boats are the ones that’s also been use by Spaniards and Portuguese Conquistadors to travel and discover new lands for their empires and conquer almost the whole world.

In Asian countries, the type of vessels that’s being use are not like the ones in the Western world, the usual type of boats are canoes, outriggers and multihull boats, in Europe they’re more likely to be the framed and keeled monohulls. They have a different technique in catching fish, Chinese use fishing nets to catch more fish with less strength and less effort.

Other techniques of fishing is also using other animals, In Japan and China “cormorant fishing”. Cormorant is a type of bird that Japanese and Chinese used to catch fish for them they put a metal ring around it’s neck to prevent catching large and valuable fish to be swallowed.

As of today, the type of fishing boats and fishing techniques developed from the tree trunk canoes to GSP powered fishing vessels that can get at least a ton of fish and sometimes destroy a part of the eco-system by catching small fishes that needs to grow first and these type of fishes gets extinct before we even name them.

Fishing is also a big part of every country’s economy, in Asia a lot of countries are having a dispute over some islands that brings in a lot of fish and increase the sales of seafoods and other sea products, fishing gives income to a lot of families all over the world, from the Oceania to the British isle to the Carribean, it’s a big part of these people lives living near the shore of this beautiful islands.
