Unfortunately, no matter how well built, cars will at some stage have a fault that needs to be looked at. Even the newest vehicles on the road encounter problems. These could be minor or more serious problems associated with the vehicles skeleton. However, the marriage between a car and owner is quite special. On many occasions I have seen and heard of car owners refuse to upgrade their vehicles due to the connection that they have with it. Granted, it does sound ridiculous but people do get attached. Older cars especially tend to encounter more problems than newer vehicles. This is pure and simply down to the fact that they are older and have racked up a lot more miles on the counter. As cars age – just like people, they start to show signs of faults. This could be an oil leak, suspension coil snapping, corroded chassis, faulty electrics and more. Realistically, you are very unlikely to encounter all of these issues in one go. If you do, then you are extremely unlucky. However, the most common issue with older vehicles is the battery. Unfortunate for new car owners and those that have recently passed their driving tests, but probably one of the cheaper repairs that you will complete on a vehicle. Car batteries vary in price but can be picked up from anywhere between £30 and £150. It really does depend on the battery that you require and the labour charges associated with your chosen mechanic. Of course a cheaper way of doing it would be to fit it yourself. driveJohnsons are a national driving school franchise that specialises in driving lessons all over the UK.
