If you’re a movie buff, having a list of the movies out now is something you look forward to because it means taking another awesome trip to your local movie theater. That said, there is also a large part of the population that has chosen to watch their movies at home, arguing that the food, bathroom, and viewing situations are much better than any movie theater out there. And while there may be some truth to this, you know that these individuals are missing out on the one thing that makes checking out a good movie at a movie theater so fantastic — the spectacle. Nowhere else can you get a massive screen & booming surround sound system letting you get fully immersed in the film you’re watching than in a movie theater. Going all the way back to the infancy of the movie industry, patrons came in and were mesmerized by the films they were shown & the music that accompanied them. As the movies got bigger, so did the bang for your buck. Yes, the home entertainment industry grew, making it easier to get a nice experience from your favorite recliner, but it never rivaled the theater experience. Aside from the physical spectacle, the movies we watch now are full of so much more to experience. Your eyes and ears are set ablaze with all of the wonderfully shot frames and masterfully performed scores, and we haven’t even gotten to the action sequences, explosions, and gorgeous nuance in filming extraordinary landscapes. Again, you might have a shorter line to your home bathroom, but you’ve got nothing that’ll compare to the “real thing” in terms of the theater experience. If your interest in moseying on over to your local theater has been piqued, here are a few current movies you need to experience on the big screen: A Dog’s Way Home — Even though this movie is billed as a touching look at how powerful our connection with our dogs is, it is also a major adventure that is set to some of lushest landscapes imaginable. Plus, the protagonist pup is even cuter on a larger screen. Bohemian Rhapsody — The biographical info is intriguing and the plot is captivating, but you need to see the concert footage on as big a screen as you can find. Lookout for sing-a-long screenings of this movie. Super-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — Coming off the end of Infinity Wars (darn you, Thanos), Spider-Man is a character that has mass appeal. Here we see one of the first adaptations of the character as told in the most recent comic books. Not only do we see a new identity, but viewers explore parallel universes with their own version of Spidey. Mary Poppins Returns — It’s been five decades since the original masterpiece came to theaters, and with this sequel, it’s only fitting that the song & dance sequences get the Hollywood treatment they need to really shine. Bumblebee — Clearly, this is the favorite Transformer in the whole franchise, so it only makes sense that Bumblebee would get a feature. Sure, this is still part of the Transformers saga, but true fans know Bumblebee rocks! There was a time when going to the movies meant a less-than-ideal experience. Over time, though, theaters have stepped up their game, so checking out any one of the movies out now on the big screen is such a wild ride you just need to try.
